Five years have passed, We ended our living onboard inside the 43 feet sailing boat and moving to an apartment near the marina.  

This new chapter will make out life a little bit easier and back to the comfort zone where we used to be.  These will not stop to continue the sailing's adventures.

         

Longing .....

Spring just around the corner, the Corona won't stop us to longing something beautifully and adventurous---this summer we aim Sandhamn in Stockholm's archipelago! we already prepare the spring cleaning, in detailed and deep.

Cycling day--20km

Öland has its personalities, our fist time trip to öland. Flat island with special nature, some stones and sandy beaches. we did cycling to the top of the island with a famous lighthouse called Long Erik. It takes us 30 minutes from Bryxelkrok harbour from we docking the boat. 

Not only to Long Erik, but our goal is also to cycling to the side of long Erik with another popular destination in Öland, Böda beach....yeap it's a long ride but it's fun.

As we cycling along the road full with wildflowers and I not seen so man butterflies since I moved to Sweden as in Öland.

Has been a bless weather we have so far, there are some rain and windy. I call it a balance, nature needs the balance sometimes. This year we made a stop at Jacob's family once more, the second year in the row.  perhaps would be a tradition.
I love our trip sailing to Öland, we had a smooth sailing to that island and quite challenging docking, as we arrived in the windy afternoon. Nature and the atmosphere in Öland pretty and calm.

..Nothing comes easy....

well, I got to be honest, living in the boat it's not cheap like everyone else thinks, especially the boat that built-in 1989. there are few important things to need to upgrade in this boat, this year we did change the gas tank to stainless steel and the captain installed itself. It's has been challenging to fitting in the tank for our self.

Feel great and safe after we set up the tank al least one of them. now we only one left to change. A second big thing we invested in the genua from www.elvstromsail.com It's gorgeousgenua and indeed service-minded sailmaker. Now it's the fifth summer, we sailing together with a partner in crime with her five years old daughter from Denmark.

Spring Please be hurry.......

waiting for the spring to comes it's like a penalty, it really tests your patient and courage. well, the spring just around the corner, we really look forward this spring. the list is long.

Winter 2018@Fourth Season

Being patient and courageous ain't easy, it needs training, practice and believes in your heart that you can get through it. This year its fourth season for us, and every year we did different ways.
 After several years living permanently onboard on 43 Nauticat sailing boat, it's teaching us many skills. This year we filling and wrapping the boat with fibre isolation, it's very practical and basic to get better heat condition and climates inside the boat. it's made a huge difference this season. It ain't fancy but its effective.

Season four “ Ta mig till havet” continue this year; we decided to sail down south. The year is very unusual summer; the tropical summer hit Sweden like never before, for us who live permanently in the boat are just nice, we don’t want to complaint it. eventhought some night we having hard time to sleep. We will miss this weather when the winter comes. 

Like usual same route to Södertalje and stayed a night at familiar nature island with anchor on! We sailed to a summer place called Trosa, we heard many good comments about it.  A soon as we arrived it’s packed with both leisure and sailing boat, we just lucky to have a spot to docked. After two nights we continue down south, this time we going to pay a visit Cap’N co-work who have summerhouse by the water just outside Oxelösund. Sailed through this part of archipelago just beautiful. We have to admitted this year seems like a lot of boats, tourist and every end of the shore there is always group of people bathing and picnicking—blame to the tropical summer;)

We arrived at an island called Bergön it’s just nice a place that you just want to live and spent the rest of your life. Jacob and Lisa with their 3 children, Moa 8, Greta 3, and Tage just 8 month, I would say very friendly, down the earth and easy people, the strange things is the kids just make a easy connect, they just made a friend in an hour, it’s seemed like the known each for a long time. We docked the boat just by the shore and that evening we just take easy with dinner, and talked. The weather is just another word---AMAZING!

Day 2 at bergön, our plan to leaving and continue sailing but as usual we changed out mind, the weather is just great and the kids is having fun. That day nothing else we did just jumped to the sea and swimming all day long and ate whenever we feel to. Peder and I have the chance to clean the bottom of the boat well—he did most of it;).

Day 3, it’s hard to say good-bye, but we’ll see again, journey down to south must continue

Meet “Windcat” This pearl is a 1989 Nauticat ’43, and builded in Finland. Its motorsailers with 90 HP diesel engines and it’s sailed 7-8 knot. The interior inside is very functional with three cabin made for 7-8 person bedding, two restroom, kitchen and our favourite place is the center of the boat “Pilothouse”

We knew very little about this boats lifeline.

The first owner was a German and based in coastline somewhere in Germany, then second is an Irish based somewhere near coastline.

The Third owner is a Swedish and based in Landkrona south coast of Sweden.  We founded this treasure on sale in Internet early 2015. We drove to Lanskrona and just to take a bigger picture. When we first stepped on this pearl, we knew.. That it…this is its!

We knew that we found the boat that we want. And in May 2015 it’s became ours. We adopted this boat to “Sophia Af Nothern Light” This boat comes with a lesson and we learning ever since.

The story

There is quote say: “Life is too short” too short for not trying or even give a try something big or different in our life that might change the perfective of living. If you don’t dare to try you might don’t find the answer or even worse we’ll might regret it someday.

To cross over our comfort zone sometime is quite scary and can be pretty challenging too, I did that when I moved to Sweden, that like 15 years ago and I count that one of my wildest dream ever. Just little bit of faith and guts, that will do. While Peder have a different story, he have this dream for ages which is to own a sailboat, and he just keeping on dreaming.

In august 2014 we sold our villa in Karlskoga and moved to Västerås. The job opportunity made us to cross our comfort zone from, 150 sq.m with garden, and double garage to 94 sq.m apartments near lake. It’s hard to fitting ourselves into new place, new faces, and new school for the kids and basically new routine. The apartment is great and not to talk about the lake view, but then the dream of having a sailboat is pop out in our everyday life. If you think in the opposite side it’s like having a nightmare sort of speak. Then thing happen, when a dreamer and an optimist met it’s not a good combination;) plus we live near Mälaren lake; it’s good reason to came of.

Then In May 2015, we bought a sailing boat with zero knowledge about boat and not to talk about how to sail it. We pretty optimist both me and Peder, plus we were lucky to have friend around who pioneer about sail boat, Who was really patient to helped and guided us.   

So he sailed the boat from Landskrona near Malmö to Västerås, took him 4 days to bring our “ Sophia”.  That summer we sailed around the Mälaren Lake to start with and we did our first sailing to Swedish archipelago near Stockholm for over a week. We did enjoy our vacation that summer and, not to talk about the kids; they were felt exciting all the time. It’s brought our vacation in different way. The kids were less into the electronic gadget, which is awesome, and I begin to read a book again. Well you know the speed like 7-8 knot, seriously you have a time to think from one to the end about life…so I prefer book instead;)

Summer in Sweden is very sort, and when it’s end it’s time for you to prepare your boat for the winter. But then we were thinking something else that perhaps nobody would dare to try. That sailing vacation we did talk about living on aboard for good we like back and forward into the same question should we give a try? Do we survive the winter? What about the kids?  I was sceptical into the most aspect and to think that kids are scared me the most if they having difficulties for adjusting their life.

Like people use to talk “It’s take one to tango” if you living as a family we should support each other and give our kids a good positive foundation to look into different perfectives way of living and guide them.  I tell you if the parent is positive, so do the kids. They are fast learner and BOOMM….. in August 2015 we  move out from our apartment and live permanently in the boat all year around  in Sweden. Half of people we known think we’re crazy and half think it’s awesome. We pretty much sell and gave away most of the furniture, and house stuff to family, friend and even donated it. We only kept very little and very special for ourselves.  Living light is become our motto.

Here we are survived the first winter and winter 2016 winter too. Since then we’ve been learned and teachd ourselves how to live aboard with children, basic things about boat life and overall to stay strong mind and soul for any difficulties while we sailing. We should be ready. We did our longest sailing to Gotland island summer 2016. It’s been unbelievable experiences.

We dream big like sailing to New York, Mediterranean, Norway fjord , Caribbean, to North America and why not to my hometown North Borneo one day. But first we wanted to load ourselves with much knowledge as possible and get ready both physically and mentally to carry on the big sailing tour.
